Don’t let our state become a Third World cesspool!

Dear [Decision Maker],

I am writing to express my glee about the bill that was just signed into law in Arizona. It invites and virtually compels enforcement of long standing and just laws, and I want such a law to spread to my state.

Among other attributes, the law requires every police officer in Arizona to act within established guidelines for interaction with the public and expressly prevents profiling based only on some undefined “reasonable suspicion” that they are in the country unlawfully. To avoid arrest, citizens and non-citizens will simply have to produce valid identification that they are already bound by law to carry.

By signing this bill into law, Governor Brewer has ensured the civil rights and liberties of millions of tax payers and lawful citizens living in Arizona. She is forcing every police agency in the state to deport immigration criminals who divert scarce resources away from the public and who are often involved in committing serious crimes.

It is discriminatory, unfair and inconsistent with the U.S. Constitution not to enforce immigration law and comes at a high cost both to Arizona taxpayers and to our treasured civil liberties.

Arizona’s transformation into a potential secure state has already spawned similar efforts elsewhere. I strongly support any effort to adopt this kind of legislation in our state.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Excellent advice, but unfortunately you are probably a law abiding American citizen and any pleas for using logic in resolving this issue will be ignored, if not labeled as racist inspired. Live with it, pay your taxes and SHUT UP!

Celebrate Earth Day--burn a Telephone Directory

This year a decision was made by members of this household to save a few trees in observance of Earth Day, by protesting continued production of telephone directories.

Be honest--when was the last time you actually consulted a 'phone book' to look up a number.

Computer research makes these 'necessities' of the past, obsolete. A good example might be those volumes of encyclopedias stashed away, gathering dust, in your hall closet.

My residence is located at an intersection of four counties here in Florida, making me the unlucky recipient of, no less than a half dozen of these outdated relics from the past.

So to my friends who have set out to hug a tree on this Earth Day 2010, perhaps a better display of love and affection might be a resounding appeal to your local telephone company (do any really still exist) and demand they cease publication of this antiquated dinosaur of days gone by!

What do you think?

MOTHER NATURE RULES

Al Gore and other money-grubbing parasites need not apply!

Mother nature belches and brings worldwide air traffic to a virtual standstill. Last time we checked, mankind had no control over when and how violent a volcano can be when IT decides to erupt. Sorry Al--you can't blame Americans for this one!

Boeing Puts the Kibosh on Ryanair's Bathroom Scheme - SmarterTravel.com

Boeing Puts the Kibosh on Ryanair's Bathroom Scheme - SmarterTravel.com

This is a win-win proposal!

By eliminating those, sometimes disgusting, public aircraft restrooms, Ryanair and counterparts will gain more space, allowing for installation of maybe another dozen seats.

Passengers are always looking for flight convenience, and what more can you ask than to have a potty right there for your disposal, so to speak!

Patent Pending!

Tiger wants you to forgive, and to buy new Nikes--So where's the wagging finger?

Tiger wants you to forgive, and to buy new Nikes

There really is a place in politics for Tiger Woods.

In only five short months, Woods pulled off what it took Bill Clinton literally years to do--put on a somber face, look his adoring public in the eye, appear remorseful and head back to business as usual.

For the former U-S President, his (sorta) public confessions, paved the way for uncountable dollars to flow into an already swollen bank account....much of which probably found a more secure home at a Swiss Bank.

These observations are not about the 'sly fox,' but rather a new generation of media savvy characters who learned how to use that avenue to convince an always gullible public, indiscretions were not their fault, but rather the result of some outside element

Without a doubt, women who were seduced by this duffer, were all well aware of his station in life and status of marital and family life. But they were only too eager to tee off with arnold, even without using a palmer! Surely coming as a slice into the rough for these wannabe caddies, only too willing to towel dry Wood's irons!

Fast forward to Augusta, and return to business. Thousand of Tiger's minions literally payed countless dollars to stroll along perimeters of fairways, if only to get a glimpse of this once assumed faithful husband and loving father, only to later learn he is nothing more than perhaps, a rich stabled stud.

The only wagging finger in this story comes from those who gaze upon his dalliances as a look beyond a once locked door into the life of a sad, and as some believe, pathetic public figure:

'Scumbag.. he deserves everything that's coming to him.. and worse!'

That reader comment in a British newspaper might summarize how many observers feel about 'the Tiger,' but then again.....did you hear, he almost won the Masters!
