 FBI Foils Plot To Build Strange X-Ray Weapon, Possibly Targeting President Obama Millions of Unwitting Airline passengers

     If you haven't noticed, these unpopular 'gamma-ray machines' have all but disappeared from your local airports.  

     Another waste of taxpayers dollars, many claiming as just another way of skimming those hard earned bucks for politically supportive cronies.  How much for this fiasco?  Reported to be in the neighborhood of 40 Million Dollars.

      As of June 1, 2013 the last of these weapons of mass privacy invasion were expected to be removed from all U-S airports.  The official reason;  "TSA decided last month to stop using the machines because the manufacturer, Rapiscan Systems, could not make the changes Congress required."  Those changes involved tweaking of the over sized phone booths "requiring TSA to upgrade the machines’ software to display less-detailed images of passengers or to stop using the machines."*

     So after being subjected to all those gamma rays and perhaps even moments of embarrassment, say goodbye to another technological  icon in human history.  Next time you view a full body scanner might very well be alongside Archie Bunker's soiled lounge chair in the Smithsonian Institution.
