When did Lanny Davis become such a greedy sleaze?
Lanny Davis, Michael Cohen’s attorney and onetime special counsel for President Bill Clinton, speaking for his client says, "He (Cohen) has flatly authorized me to say under no circumstances would he accept a pardon from Mr. Trump, who uses the pardon power in a way that no president in American history has ever used a pardon—to relieve people of guilt who committed crimes, who are political cronies of his."
Lanny. Lanny, Lanny, Lanny...your smarm is showing, considering you, yes you, acting as a special counsel for (Impeached) President Bill Clinton, could possibly have been tasked with drawing up the official paperwork for your famous client's pardon for billionaire Marc Rich. (This exoneration by Bubba actually came during his final hours in office).
The cowardly timing of Clinton's pardon, this act of human kindness, apparently did not rise, in your opinion, to the level of using "a pardon—to relieve people of guilt who committed crimes, who are political cronies of his."
Some people might even question Bill Clinton's motivation in this last minute pardoning of Marc Rich. And considering your longtime relationship with the Clinton's, there are those among the doubters who might imagine what part you possible played in transfer of the many large contributions made by Rich's wife Denise, to Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign, the Democratic Party, and to the Clinton library foundation during Bill Clinton's Presidency.*
Nothing to suspect as 'sleazy' here, right Lanny. Because, at the end of the day, you all belong to an exclusive club, and we all know, "there is no honor among thieves." (Lawyers in Love)
