Former Justice Antonin Scalia said several years ago, the State of the Union had “turned into a childish spectacle.”

Satire--I need a little levity in my life!

Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in 2016, stopped attending the annual addresses in 1997. Scalia said several years ago the State of the Union had “turned into a
childish spectacle.” *

Of course, this was before Scalia was found dead, in a Texas hunting ranch resort with a pillow covering his face.  An autopsy was never performed on Scalia's body, and he was immediately cremated, leaving conspiracy theorists to question his demise, especially after his death was ruled of natural causes, by a local justice of the peace.

Nothing to see here folks, so just move along.

Getting back on topic, regarding Tuesday night's State of the Union Address by President Donald Trump to members of Congress, etc....with a reflective reference to the late Justice Scalia's description of this yearly side-show as 'a childish spectacle.'

Of course, as you can plainly see, nothing could be further from the truth.

Fortunately our pre-State of the Union fears were not realized, visualizing the Supreme Court gallery area occupied by only eight of the assumed surviving members of that revered and unique exclusive club.  Thinking it might look something like this:

As it turned out, only four members of the Supreme Court made a showing for the address.  Various excuses were given by four Justices, but it was reported by the Wash Post, and other reliable sources, that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a prior engagement for a Volley Ball tournament, somewhere in New England.  So, that's that, for that.

Otherwise, it was one of the more memorable State of the Union Addresses, and most Citizen Journalist report that President Trump, "hit it out of the park."

And, we'll leave it at that.
