Hopefully, final comments on Malaysian Airline Flight 370

     At last count, there reportedly were three Americans among the 239 people on board that missing Malaysian Airline flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

     Also, for those interested in numbers--we are told there are as many as 40 ships and perhaps 34 aircraft from 9 countries searching for this flight.

     As a commenter pointed out at another website, "This is a Malaysian Air flight flying to Beijing not a Delta flight flying to LA."

     That remark prompted us to question, why such intense media interest in this particular story pertaining to a foreign aircraft, and involving only three American citizens? In fact, and according to the New York Times, it is not certain whether two of those reported three missing (Nicole Meng, 4, and Yan Zhang, 2) "whether the children were traveling with parents from China or another country, living in the United States when they were born, or traveling with American parents with dual citizenship."  The third American reportedly abort this ill-fated flight is listed as "Philip Wood, 50, an IBM employee who was living in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, where the flight originated."

     Concern about any loss of life in this type of tragedy in understandable, but WHY such intense media interest in this particular story to a missing foreign aircraft?



     Perhaps such widespread coverage of this story could be running interference for one of our usual media darlings here in the States???

     Hmmm....Barack Obama gets caught up having a Dan Quayle moment by misspelling that R-S-P-E-C-T word.....that can't be it....

     That gay blade Putin makes a mad display of testosterone by taking advantage of the Ukraine...nah...just another gay story.....ah, maybe this.....

     The New York Daily News reports that "Mitch McConnell of Kentucky surprised the thousands gathered for the year’s Conservative Political Action Conference when he took the stage brandishing an antique-style muzzle-loading rifle and hoisted it above his head."......absolutely not--maybe a story if he pointed it AT his head, but otherwise merely a Jack Daniel's moment.
               
     This has got to be it....BINGO.....The Washington Times’ Jim McElhatton: “Bill Clinton cashes in on nonprofit hospital” Bill Clinton accepted a $225,000 speaking fee from the nonprofit Washington Hospital Center smack in the middle of two big rounds of layoffs in 2012 — one of a number of tax-exempt organizations that have paid big money to hear the former president talk. The $225,000 payment wasn’t made public by the hospital on its annual Internal Revenue Service forms, but rather appeared among dozens of lucrative speeches by Mr. Clinton reported on his wife’s final ethics filing as secretary of state.      Any tidbit even remotely resembling news, such as the disappearance of a 777 with 239 passengers on board, and diverts any attention away from the Clinton mob, is likely to dominate any number of news cycles until glitter has returned to Hillary's inevitable 2016 Presidential run.

     We are not suggesting the Clintons had anything to do with the disappearance of Malaysian Airline Flight 370, but they have been known to leave a trail of unsolved mysteries every time a good 'dog-wagging' is called for as a headline replacement.

 

     By our estimation, the Clinton headline will soon be a faded memory....the Malaysian Airline Flight 370 will, or will not be discovered, and we can all get back to reading about those RACIST Tea Party righties who usually dominated daily news headlines in Barack Obama's America.
