Throughout history, usually leading up to unpredictable heinous acts against humanity, the world has tolerantly look on, as far too many unbalanced crackpot visionaries were allowed to peddle their magic elixirs to a naive majority, stupefying an already ill society with their own distorted view of how each and every one of them should accept his or her personal philosophical brands of leadership.
We are not suggesting Executive immigration actions taken by Barack Obama approaches 'heinous acts against humanity,' but what is scary, is the ability to regularly sell his patented snake oil with such ease to a population which, appears to have been reduced to a state of apathetic ignorance.
Least anyone forget, even Adolph Hitler was initially loved and adored by his masses.
In his book, Road to Serfdom,* Friedrich Von Hayek reminds us how easy it is for the public to be influenced by an articulate, and persuasive politician. (I've added emphasis to Hayek's comments as related to Hitler and the state of affairs at that time, and also to demonstrate, it isn't very difficult to draw parallels between any two individuals who essentially are selling quack medicine to an ailing debilitated public).
Hayek states, "The democratic legislature will long hesitate to relinquish the decisions on really vital issues, and so long as it does so it makes it impossible for anyone else to provide the comprehensive plan. Yet agreement that planning is necessary, together with the inability of democratic assemblies to produce a plan, will evoke stronger and stronger demands that the government or some single individual should be given powers to act on their own responsibility."
"The belief is becoming more and more widespread that, if things are to get done, the responsible authorities must be freed from the fetters of democratic procedure."
Hayek continues, "Hitler did not have to destroy democracy; he merely took advantage of the decay of democracy and at the critical moment obtained the support of many to whom, though they detested Hitler, he yet seemed the only man strong enough to get things done."
The two party system no longer exists. As Lawrence Sellin so observantly points out at his website, Family Security Matters, "The Republican Party exists, not to restore the Constitution and limit government, but to hold endless inconclusive Congressional hearings and provide token political resistance in order to maintain the illusion of democracy while preserving their access to the federal revenue trough as junior members of the ruling class." **
We have a Judicial system, some would say is stacked with political hacks, who rather than making decisions based on this nation's Constitution, no longer attempt to hide, what appears to be, a practice of currying favor with elites. There is an old saying, 'Everybody is a friend of a gift giver.'
And probably our most damaging loss is the American press/media. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh is quoted as saying "the American press spends ‘so much more time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would’.
In his (Hersh) opinion, the solution would be to shut down news networks like NBC and ABC and fire 90 per cent of mainstream editors and replace them with ‘real’ journalists who are not afraid to speak truth to power."*** Hersh could hardly be considered a friend of the Republican Party. In fact, Richard Perle, who served in both the Reagan and G.W Bush Administrations, once called Hersh the "closest thing American journalism has to a terrorist."
A vast majority of people in this country disagree with Obama on numerous issues, Health Care and Immigration are only two, however in both of these instances, Obama, and his willing accomplices sited above, have acted contrary to wishes of that majority.
