For the first time in my life of 74 years, I have reason to say without shame or embarrassment, "being an American, is nothing special, anymore."
Born in the mid 40s, a child of the 50s, and a dreamer of the 60s, my life, and young fellow travelers on this journey came to realize, this place, this country, this United States of America really was a special place. And WE were blessed to be reapers of a blood, sweat and tear's soaked harvest handed down by those who laid the groundwork for this Nation.
As Charles Dickens states in A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair."
The "Winter of despair," in 1966 in our world, was the growing intensity of yet another war, raging in a distant place few of my peers could even point to on a world map, never mind be expected to respond for a battle waged by corrupt politicians, whose only interest, was serving corporate giants, showing their appreciation by stuffing the pockets of these parasites with riches, certainly beyond qualifications embellished in their counterfeit resumes.
Little did we know at that time, it would be the beginning of this bitter harvest we are reaping today. Only difference between 1966, and 2020; the corporations became more powerful and invasive into American's lives, and the politicians became greedier and demanding of those, they were elected to serve. /s
You might describe these aspiring zealots as caretakers of a new 'Because I Said So' Government.' Writer J.B. Shurk, in an article appearing at American Thinker, captures my thoughts, reflecting on an earlier time in many of our lives, when greatness wasn't intended for a select few in this America, but rather, for one and all...each and everyone of us would benefit from our ancestor's blood, sweat and tears.
We know, absolutely nothing in our election system is legitimate anymore, but like the helpless sheep we have morphed into, we allow the usurpers to corral us like their branded stock, while at the same time robbing us of our wealth, and a future meant, not only for their brood, but for all of our children--the children of WE, THE PEOPLE.
Here now, is an excerpt from Shurk's American Thinker article...‘Because I Said So’ Government Is a Disaster.'
"Trying to preserve the integrity of American elections by insisting that Americans not speak about their real concerns only makes the 2020 election outcome more suspect.
“Why are you forcing me to wear a mask but not forcing me to wear disposable gloves?”
“Because I said so.”
“Why are Fortune 500 stores allowed to stay open while local businesses must go bankrupt?”
“Because I said so.”
“Why must I believe the 2020 election was untainted by fraud when nothing about it smells right?”
“Because I said so.”
If any lesson has been driven home during the last year, it is that the public must stop thinking for itself and let the government do its thinking for it. Questioning the wearing of masks is called “unpatriotic.” Questioning the authority of local politicians to ban family and church gatherings is called “selfish.” Questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election is called “dangerous.”
In the United States, however, the government is not meant to be separate from the people. It is meant to be representative of the people, and its application of power is at all times checked by the people. It is a form of consensual government. The buck stops with us, not the governing class.
There is nothing consensual about “because I said so” governing. That’s “rule by authority,” a whole other monster that Americans have fought on global battlefields since the country’s founding. It’s way past time for Republicans and Democrats holding elected offices to understand that millions of Americans find the wide proliferation of “because I said so” government as dangerous as any virus or any foreign attack. Representative government in the United States is hanging by a thread, and there’s nothing wrong with saying that out loud." (Excerpt) Read more at link *

Thomas Jefferson is credited with these brilliant words, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." We Americans have become way too complacent--a Nation of dreamers, destined for a life filled with greatness and leadership, have evaporated into nothing more than a puddle of useless poison to that tree of liberty which gave us so much goodness in our lives.
Will we be remembered as the generations which allowed the tree of liberty to die of thirst, or will we be the storm which washes away the filth, now in the process of making slaves of you, and much more importantly, your children and grandchildren?
BE THE STORM!
