Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez might want to amend her charges against President Trump's "Systemic Cruelty" of Migrant Detention Centers.

It seems so far back in the distant past, when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat Congresswoman, made a photo op appearance at a migrant detention center in Texas.  When, in reality, her much trumpeted trek to the border wasn't really that long ago.

According to a July 2nd article at Vanity Fair, "Ocasio-Cortez  shined a light on the allegedly abusive and overcrowded conditions in migrant detention facilities Monday. After visiting detention facilities in Texas, Ocasio-Cortez used her Twitter platform to decry the conditions immigrants are being kept in and the “dehumanizing” way in which they're being treated. “It is hard to understate the enormity of the problem,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.  “We’re talking systemic cruelty [with] a dehumanizing culture that treats them like animals.”

According to Ocasio-Cortez's Twitter report of the congressional U.S. Customs and Border Protection tour, which included visits to facilities in El Paso and Clint, Texas, C.B.P. officers were “keeping women in cells [with] no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets,” and women were only given one small packet of shampoo to clean themselves with. “Some women’s hair was falling out,” Ocasio-Cortez noted.
“Others had gone 15 days without taking a shower.”

The women Ocasio-Cortez and other members of Congress spoke with described their treatment by border patrol officers as “psychological warfare,” and said guards were “waking them at odd hours for no reason” and “calling them wh*res.” “Tell me what about that is due to a ‘lack of funding?‘” Ocasio-Cortez wrote, striking down one of the Trump administration's reasonings for the appalling conditions in the detention facilities.

Ocasio-Cortez concluded, again quoting the Vanity Fair article,  “How on earth can CBP’s (Customs and Border Patrol) culture be trusted to care for refugees humanely?” *

      Miss Cortez.....
THIS IS WHAT
“dehumanizing”
 LOOKS LIKE,
IN OUR
ADULT REALITY WORLD, WHERE MOST
MATURE AMERICANS LIVE.

Perhaps some crayons, a coloring book...a puppy and a quiet safe place might help easing your trip into the real world.
