Any reporter, at whatever level, will agree, weekends are absolutely the worst time for gathering anything resembling bonafide news.
You can not, and should not, rely on murders, rapes and a bunch of other bad stuff happening in order to meet your news director's insatiable appetite for blood and guts, and--'all that is bad.'
