My prophecy

In 2006 this was the final entry at my former blog site known as 'Greenfire.' When I see and hear developments coming out of Washington, D.C. each and every day, I realize how prophetic I was when recording these thoughts:

Greenfire

History will always substantiate my opinions as prophetically brilliant.

United States Scandal

(Published December 6th, 2006 in Politics.)

When posting at this blog, there is a realization by your author that few, if any, will ever read my words. Actually, if my motivation was determined by this factor, there would be an eternal blank space at this site.

So why do I continue to post? To preserve my words and predictions and get on record for the days when I can say 'I told you so'. Easy to say, I said this or that on this or that date, but it is yet another statement when claims can be backed up by a chronicle of sorts. That is the purpose of this blog.

If one were to read my entries here over the past few years, I can boastfully say my record for on target predictions has been at least 85% correct.

So todays posting is just another such example. However, this will be a prediction of monumental proportions. And it is this..within the next few months stories will begin to appear on the internet, perhaps in blogs such as this, and then on to the main stream media (which is normally the journalistic progression these days) which will unfold the genesis of a nationwide scandal. Revelations will have history making results and lives of American will be affected by fallout from this scandal. It is my belief this has already begun to happen and sooner than we'd like, birth of this hot news will come pouring out with catastrophic results.

More as this begins to unfold..

If you're really PISSED at what's happening to your country......

The following letter is a reprint which appeared on the website of Glenn Beck. It was written to him by one of his listeners and explicitly expresses one hundred per cent the way I feel about the ugliness developing in our nations capital. If you agree with what you read, go to his site foxnews.com/glennbeck and voice your opinion....while you are still able to exercise that right:

An Open Letter to Our Nation’s Leadership

I am Janet Contreras, a concerned, home-grown American citizen. I am 53, and I have been a registered Democrat all of my adult life. Before the last Presidential election, I registered Republican because I no longer feel the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. I now no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me.

There must be someone, please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me you are there and are willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please do it now.

You might ask yourselves what my views and issues are that I would feel so horribly disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me? These are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

* Illegal Immigration—I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S. I am not a racist. This not to be confused with legal immigration.

* TARP Bill—I want it repealed and no further funding supplied to it. We told you “NO!” but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze! Repeal!

* Czars—I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the Czars. No more Czars. Government officials answer to the process not the President. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

* Cap & Trade—the debate on global warming is NOT over, there IS more to say.

* Universal Health Care—I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don’t you dare pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

* Growing Government Control—I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Please mind your own business; you have enough to do with your REAL obligations. Let’s start there.

* ACORN—I do not want ACORN or its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them on every real estate deal that closes. Stop all funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audit and investigation. I do not trust them with the taking of the census or with taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before the taxpayers get any further involved with them. It walks like a duck and talks like a duck—hello… stop protecting political buddies. You work for the people. Investigate.

* Redistribution of Wealth—No. If I work for it, it is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth I support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do want me to hate my employers? What do your have against shareholders making a profit?

* Charitable Contributions—although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities where we know our needs best and can use local talent and resources. Butt out, please. We want to do this ourselves.

* Corporate Bail Outs—knock it off! Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we will be better off just getting to it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful, like ripping off a band aid. We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us a chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

* Transparency and Accountability—how about it? No really, let’s have it. Let’s say we give the “buzz” words a rest and have some straight, honest talk. Please stop trying to manipulate and appease me with cleaver wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

* Unprecedented Quick Spending—stop it, now. Take a breath. Listen to “The People.”

Let’s just slow down and get some more input from some “non-politicians” on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law.

I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant nor a violent person. I am a mother and grandmother. I am a working woman. I am busy, busy, busy and tired, tired, tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawns and wash our cars on weekends, and be responsible, contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same, all the while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding our Constitution and believed in the checks and balances to keep you from getting too far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think that I find humor in hiring a speed reader to unintelligibly ramble through a bill you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not! It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face! I am not laughing—the arrogance!

Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it, but you expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children? We did not want that TARP bill. We said “NO!” We would repeal it if we could. I am not sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all the recent spending. From my perspective, it seems that you have all gone insane.

I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back!

You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington.

Lookin' good in Black!

There can be only one reason top ranking Democratic Congressional leaders are so eager to accelerate Sonia Sotomayor's Supreme Court nomination towards confirmation.

Given more time for this delicate judicial process, more complicated questions are being dredged from her past legal decisions. No need to slow down the process of getting a 'good ole girl' on the nation's highest court bench over some silly technical questions.

The faster they get around to a vote placing her in one of those spiffy black robes, the sooner we will get to know who she really is! Quite honestly, as a supreme court justice, she couldn't be any worse than David Souter!

Wait till Grandma hears this one!

WARNING!

These words are directed to older Americans, so anyone under the age of 30, fearing they may contract 'something' from an old person, should leave the room!

A very popular organization amongst those over 50 in the United States is AARP. For those not familiar with this group--Association for the Advancement of Retired Persons. According to its website, "AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50 and over." In other words, its main goal is to 'promote the welfare of senior citizens.' So for those of you who are 50 and didn't realize you are now a senior citizen, it would probably be a good time to add items such as 'Depends' to your shopping list!

One should take exception to AARP's self-characterization as being 'nonpartisan.' A simple review of past endorsements will reveal this organization's unadulterated affinity with the Democratic party. With the exception of a 'nice going George, one liner' when a major Seniors prescription piece of legislation was past during the Bush administration, AARP officials have consistently had nothing but criticism for anything resembling the Republican 'brand.'

In its most recent issue of an AARP publication, they make mention of a minor newsworthy item, perhaps of interest to its senior readers, on page eight, with a rather 'in passing' notice, there will be no cost of living increase for social security recipients in 2010. It might also be significant to point out, this is the first time in 35 years such a bold move is happening.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!!!!!

There are three actions a sane politician will never go near during the tenure of his political career. Number one--never mess with Social Security! Number two--never mess with Social Security! And Number three, probably more importantly then these two, NEVER MESS WITH SOCIAL SECURITY. Oh wait, did I fail to mention this is taking place for the first time in 35 years, and was it an error on my part to bring attention to the fact that this is happening during a Democratic administration. All three branches of the United States government literally being controlled by the Democratic party. The one and same party which has consistently received endorsement of older Americans and their representative arm, AARP. All this being said and it only deserves an 'oh by the way, you older people on fixed incomes are not getting a raise this year' (first time in 35 years)!!!!

One would shudder at thoughts of what would have happened if, something even remotely similar to such a bold move was attempted by a Bush, or any Republican administration. The AARP Bulletin would have been screaming this news, not only on the pages of their little paper distributed to its seniors, but surely it would have rallied the forces inside America's biggest labor unions, called upon Governors in all 50 states to call out the National Guard and perhaps even gone as far as seeking assistance from Oprah! The chief executive officers of AARP would be on every U-S state run media outlet, where blood would be seen gushing from their eyes and words of fire being blasted in all directions Republican.

This is what happens when you have one party rule! Get used to folks. Be aware it will be worse than ever could have been predicted, when they get away with tampering with Social Security and it winds up on page eight of an insignificant publication issued by an equally insignificant organization selling itself as the Association for the Advancement of Retired Persons.

Election day differences

Authorities in Lebanon report an estimated 50,000 police and soldiers have been deployed around that country to assure a peaceful election process, of major interest to those in the West.

Reading a report such as this is troubling to me, as a devout voting American. As a democracy with free elections, deployment of troops is not necessary in this country. Fortunately, as witnessed in the last Presidential election, we had the Black Panthers stationed outside polling places to insure a fine tuned operating election process!

Welcome home Nancy

Witnessing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's unhinged reaction today, when questioned by a reporter to comment on her current status with regards to the CIA, one would have to agree, this is a woman who appears to be living in fear for her political life.

She ran away last week to 'hide' in, of all places Beijing China. Pelosi probably felt right at home in the 'Forbidden City,' and more than likely envied her counterparts for having the luxury of a literal fortress to protect them from a prying press.

Unfortunately, today's unwelcome query by a pesky reporter, could only serve as a prelude to what is in store for this woman in what could be her remaining days as 'a public servant." There are some unwritten rules even people of her stature must abide by and one is, not to piss off a super sleuth organization like the Central Intelligence Agency.

Pelosi's many years of 'walking over people' to attain her lofty position, surely emboldened her with a false sense of invincibility. However, recognizing her blatant disdain for the CIA, she should familiarize herself with the words of an old Jim Croce tune--and I quote:

"You don't tug on superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim"

Nancy Sinatra, another recording artist from that era, also had a tune which certainly is appropriate...."These Boots are Made for Walkin!" And as they say madame Speaker, if the shoes fit, wear em'.

...and now, the news!

Having been a part of the 'media business' in another lifetime, its amusing to sit on the sidelines these many years later and witness how new inductees have really screwed up the process.

There was a time when, before anything which resembled news was totally scrutinized for content, truthfulness and accuracy. Looking back over the news reporting landscape for the past twenty years, it is fair to say this meadow had been totally overrun by weeds and waste. The cultivators can best be described as nothing more than pseudo-plagiarizers on a plight to distribute whatever fantasies of the day are handed to them.

What is accepted as news worthy today would have been reserved for, at best, the so-called supermarket rag papers. Switching on your TV upon awakening each morning, you are not greeted by what news happenings developed overnight, but usually a threesome of 'fluff-delivering' airheads. They titter and chuckle their way through three hours of showtime. Interspersed, you will hear an occasional story which if you truly focus, you may be able to associate its content with something which resembles what an information hungry public so desperately yearns.....NEWS!

They show up at assemblies billed as a Presidential news conference, only to mingle with like-minded robots who listen in awe as the center of attention responds to preselected members from this herd of reporters, who in another time could be described as a group of gitty high school girls listening to plans for their school prom. The hardball questions are lacking because a script has already been written and to ad lib would surely mean being banished from the cheerleading squd. With all due respect, shouldn't authorities have pulled White House credentials from Helen Thomas at least twenty years ago!

Until recently the best description used to define this bunch has been 'the drive-by media.' Under the current administration in Washington, a more accurated characterization would be 'state-run media.'

Have a good day comrade!

When Billionaires rub shoulders

What was labeled as a 'secret meeting' between some of the richest tycoons on the face of our planet recently took place at a, not so secret location, in New York City. Major news outlets chose to practically ignore this gathering, however some attention should be directed at a coffee chat of this type, if for no other reason, to get answers to what should be the one and only question...Why?

Oh sure, the 'official' word for having this assemblage was to focus on philanthropic issues, but if you live in my cynical world, you are compelled to look beyond what is pablum fed to common folks, such as us, and look for ulterior motives. Seriously, when people like George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, Ted Turner and Michael Bloomburg get in the same room to rub shoulders, little people like me begin to show concern. With all due respect to these mentioned four, granted, they are rich...no, they are filthy rich...but at the end of the day, perhaps one might question individually, never mind collectively, their mental stability.

In a previous blog entry, I questioned who is actually running this country's government in Washington, DC. It's not too difficult to recognize someone as naive as our current President, receiving his marching orders from the likes of the majority in this exclusive club. And of course they should demand nothing less than Barack Obamas loyalty. When all is said and done, you must agree, through their support, they did 'buy' the Executive office.
